Prayer

 

Now it came to pass, as Jesus was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray...”                                                                               

So He said to them, In this manner, therefore, pray:

 

Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.

 
Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.

 
And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one.

 
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen

 

This model prayer tells us Who we should pray to, What we should pray for, and Why we should pray.

 

WHO

Jesus said pray to our Heavenly Father, ask for His Kingdom to come, His will to be done. 

What

Provide us with our daily food, forgive our debts as we forgive our debtors.

Why

Keep us from temptation, and deliver us from the evil one. Then end our prayer with yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen
