It's Not a "Jewish" Thing, it's a Bible Thing
The Feasts of the LORD (YHWH) is the pattern for the redemption
and salvation of all mankind. God gave us His Holy Days to remember,
rehearse, honor, and teach to our children so we would know the process
that leads to eternal life.
The autumn equinox, September 22, always marks the first day of the seventh month which is... The Feast of Trumpets. See God's Appointed Times.
Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, Speak to the children of Israel, saying: In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a sabbath-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work on it; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord.
The blowing of a trumpet is to sound an alarm, to warn of coming danger. God's "trumpets" are found in Deuteronomy 28:15-68 and Revelation 8 & 9
If your Church does not keep the Feasts of the LORD, find a group to fellowship with at Feast time... http://www.feastgoer.org/index.html
