Zephaniah
is a book of the Bible that is seldom read. However, God gave Zephaniah
insight on what will happen when the day of the LORD is near.
The word of the Lord which came to Zephaniah 1:14 -19
The great day of the Lord is near; (the Lord has spoken). It is near and hastens quickly (quicker than we think). The noise of the day of the Lord is bitter; (a resentful, angry feeling towards God's word) There the mighty men shall cry out. (power comes from God not our own arrogance, experience, or strength.
That day is a day of wrath, (righteous judgment).A day of trouble and distress, (everyone who does evil will suffer trouble and distress). A day of devastation and desolation, (infrastructure destroyed and people dying young). A day of darkness and gloominess, (mental illness and anxiety. A day of clouds and thick darkness, (God's word is hidden in thick darkness to unbelievers).
A day of trumpet and alarm (ignoring God's warnings). Against the fortified cities (relying on military power for protection). And against the high towers (thinking there is safety in modern buildings or bomb shelters).
You are cordially invited to Renew Your Strength Bible Study... https://mlf1070.blogspot.com/ 2021/01/renew.html
Renew Your Strength is not a "know-it-all" type ministry. The purpose of Renew Your Strength Bible Study Group is to get people to think about what they believe and why they believe it, not debate who's right or wrong.
Over the years, as Renew Your Strength has continued to
grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, we have
recognized that some of the things we once held as true, in fact, are
not; and therefore we will not “cast in stone” a statement of our
beliefs. We reserve the right to be wrong and to repent of such error
when we discover it.
To
learn the revealed truth of God we must know and understand the true
meaning of the words God inspired to be written. Use Strong's
Concordance to check the original word before it was translated. Do your own research, make up your own mind, rely on the Holy Spirit to guide you.
