Michael Farris to Teach Constitutional Law Online

HSLDA announces a new opportunity to "attend" via the Internet a Constitutional Law course taught by Michael Farris. Slated for 18 sessions, this high school-level course will be offered twice during the school year - Fall and Winter. Students can enroll to start in either September or January. Tuition is $180, and is due in full upon registration. Late enrollments may be accepted on a case-by-case basis.

Constitutional Law for Christian Students (1995 Revised Edition) by Michael Farris is the required text and can be purchased for $20. If you happen to have the 1991 edition of Constitutional Law for Christian Students Textbook (yellow cover), all you need is the Constitutional Law for Christian Students Supplement which includes all the new text added in the 1995 edition and can be purchased for $5. You can purchase a copy of either of these books when you complete your online registration form.

Each on-line class session features a 60-90 minute audio recording of Dr. Farris teaching the course material to HSLDA interns. Each registered student will receive a CD containing the audio files for all 18 sessions which they can then listen to at their own pace and convenience. The "current" session and topic(s) will be governed according to the course syllabus.

Several sessions include online supplemental material which can be accessed from the ConLaw Online website. Also included, for eleven of the cases studied, are recordings of the actual oral arguments made before the U.S. Supreme Court.

If online students have questions, they can pose them to Dr. Farris using HSLDA's secure Internet forum. This approach allows all students to see and learn from the questions and Dr. Farris' answers. Also, 10 times during the course (approximately every other week), Dr. Farris will hold a secure Internet chat session with students for "live," text-based discussion.

The secure forums and chat center are also available for student-to-student discussion throughout the entire duration of the course. All posted content is logged, and a strict code of conduct is enforced.

A former bar examiner, Dr. Farris will also pose both a mid-term and final bar-style exam question for the students to research and answer. The exams are intended to test the student's ability to apply the material taught to a fictitious legal scenario. Answers are written in essay format. Dr. Farris will review, critique, and grade each student's midterm and final exam answer, returning them to the student upon completion.

Students who successfully complete the course will receive a letter grade on each test and a certificate of completion.

America's Most Shameful Secret

USSLiberty.wordpress.com:
ONE HUNDRED TWENTY SECONDS FROM NUCLEAR HOLOCAUST

AN OPEN LETTER TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE

My fellow Americans, I sit here at 3:00 a.m. with my heart racing and my hands shaking and I ask that you please take a moment to read my letter. I ask not that you read it for my sake, but rather for your own and for your children and grandchildren.

JUNE 8, 1967, during the Six Day War, we came as close to a nuclear war than anytime in history and it scares me to death as it should you.

For the benefit of those who do not know what happened (the result of a deliberate campaign of cover-up and censorship by a Zionist-owned media in America) I will give you a quick history lesson. It all started on a beautiful bright, sunny day 40 years ago. Our ship, the USS LIBERTY, was sailing off the coast of Sinai, doing 5 knots. The LIBERTY was the most sophisticated intelligence gathering platform in the world at that time. We were in international waters gathering intelligence, plucking it from the air, which we had every right to do. We were doing what our government ordered us to do.

Early in the morning we began to see Israeli aircraft coming very close to our ship, some so close we could see the pilots waving at us. As we waved back we could clearly see the Star of David on the aircraft.

This went on for many hours. Our flag was flying (as always) GTR-5 was painted on both sides of her bow and “USS LIBERTY” was clearly painted on her stern. There could be no mistake as to who we were. Israel knew we were American and we knew we had been identified as American and friendly as the Israelis themselves have since admitted. They plotted us on their war table and made positive ID of our ship as the LIBERTY. The crew all knew the war was still ongoing and we all took comfort in the fact that our Israeli ‘friends’ had come to visit us. It made all of us feel safer, just in case one of the Arab combatants got spunky and came after us as we all knew Israel would be there to protect their American friends and allies.

We had been on station for approximately 7 to 8 hours. Suddenly, at 2:00 all hell broke loose. We were being attacked by jet aircraft.

On their first pass they took out our 4 fifty-caliber machine guns, all of our antennae and our moon dish. Everything we had to communicate with was destroyed.

They continued their air assault for about 30 minutes using rockets, canons and napalm which they dropped on the bridge to try and burn us alive. Fifteen minutes into their vicious attack Terry Halbadier got an antenna to work and we began broadcasting “under attack, under attack by unknown jet aircraft.”

The jets were unmarked, hiding the identity of our attackers.

The USS SARATOGA, commanded by Captain Tully, sent aircraft to our aid only to have them recalled by voice from Secretary of Defense Robert MacNamara.

Again, Captain Tully ordered rescue aircraft to come to our aid. Then, President Lyndon Johnson got on the phone and ordered the recall himself, saying “I don’t give a God damn if every man on board that ship dies, I will not embarrass our ally, Israel.”

Now, if we didn’t know who was attacking us until much later into the attack how did the pole cat Johnson know it was the Israelis that were attacking us? The reason is simple – we were set up by our own government as pawns to let Israel have her way with us. Why else would our government recall the life-saving aircraft when we were still under attack?

When the jets got through with us they sent the torpedo boats, three of them. Then and only then did we become aware of who was attacking us. We could see their flags on their boats with the Star of David on them. We were horrified that our so-called ‘ally’ was doing this to us. The word went out we were under attack by Israeli torpedo boats. This was picked up as far away as Vietnam and many other listening posts around the world. Still no help from our government. We were on our own.

The torpedo boats fired five torpedoes at us, one hitting its mark midships, instantly slaughtering 25 American sons. The torpedo boats kept up the attack, I guess, until they ran out of ammunition, shooting at our boilers, firefighters, stretcher bearers, anything that moved. The captain ordered us to prepare to abandon ship.

We put over 3 life rafts, all that remained that would float. We were going to put our most severely wounded men in them. The Israelis would have none of that and shot two of them out of the water and took one aboard their boat as a trophy.

The torpedo boats left and then came Israeli helicopters with armed troops, ready to board our ship and finish us off. They hovered over us like vultures ready for the kill and suddenly they left. We found out later that they left because they knew we had gotten messages out that it was Israel doing the murdering not any Arab state.

When all was said and done in this almost two hour attack, 34 men were murdered, 174 were wounded. There were over 821 canon and rocket holes in our ship. Thousands of 50 caliber armor piercing bullets riddled her skin and there was a 40 x 40 foot torpedo hole in her side. The LIBERTY was the most heavily damaged ship in modern history including WWII.

We did not receive any help from our government for 18 hours after the attack when help was only 15 - 20 minutes away.

Why was our government willing to sacrifice 294 American sailors, marines and the finest intelligence ship in the world? That’s what we all were wondering.

A few days later, Admiral Isaac Kidd came aboard our ship and ordered every crewman never to speak a word about what happened to us to other crewmen, parents, family, no one under penalty of prison or worse and we all knew what worse meant.

We took the ship to Malta. The dead were removed from the torpedo space and the ship was repaired and painted to look brand new, as if nothing had ever happened.

I stayed silent for many years. I was so afraid to say anything as was the rest of the crew.

In about 1983-1984 I read a book called “Assault on the Liberty” by James Ennes Jr., an intelligence officer onboard when we were attacked. I began asking questions of the navy, congress, anyone I could write to find out answers to a simple question - why our government went along with the cover-up as it is still doing today.

The standard answer you get from congress is there have already been many investigations which is a bold face lie and I have told them that. All you have to do is check the congressional record and you will see there has never been any investigation except for the sham Board of Inquiry which was a white wash and only took 6 days to complete.

# Isaac Kidd signed off on it as did Captain Ward Boston,
# Admiral John McCain Jr. and President Lyndon Johnson all in a matter of 10 days.

The conclusion? Mistaken identity!!

Captain Boston has recanted what was in the Board of Inquiry as a pack of lies. He was ordered to sign off by none other than Admiral John McCain Jr., Senator McCain’s father.

The fact is we were set up to sink fast, blame it on Egypt and bring the U.S. into the war. This was the deal made by our government and the Israeli Government.

This government will not help us get the truth out. They are knee-deep in bed with the Israeli Lobby, AIPAC and every other Israeli interest out there.

Our elected officials sold us out then and they are still selling us out now. Israel is committing war crimes on Americans and our government could care less.

This country is not “We the Government” it is “We the People” and if we don’t take our government back soon it is nobody’s fault but our own.

What I found out later is our government was 120 seconds away from dropping nuclear bombs on Cairo, Egypt and they would have if the LIBERTY would have sunk. The LIBERTY staying afloat was an act of God. He kept us afloat to tell you the truth. If our government would have nuked Cairo you can bet the Soviet Union would have retaliated in kind on the American people. This was a pact with the devil with only the greater interest of Israel in mind.

My fellow Americans, look what is going on in the Middle East today. It all goes back to the Six Day War 40 years ago. We need you to email your representatives in Congress and demand an investigation into the attack on the LIBERTY. Remember, they work for us, we don’t work for them. As futile as it may seem, we must at least TRY to take our country back from Israel before it is too late, if indeed it is not already.

Miracles have hinged on smaller odds than this. Look at what happened to us 40 years ago–we should have been dead, sunk to the bottom of the sea and yet we stayed afloat, as I said, by the hand of God. It was a miracle. Remember, Israel didn’t just attack the LIBERTY, she attacked America with our government’s help, and remember, as the old saying goes, ‘A leopard does not change its spots’.

What this gang of criminals has done once it will do again, and this time, chances are that we will not be as lucky as we were 40 years ago. Despite all the propaganda we hear, Israel is not our friend. No friend treats us as she has. She would just as soon slit our throats as look at us, and this is not a theory, it is a fact proven by history.

Postscript

In 2003, General Raymond Davis (USMCRet.) participated in an independent investigative commission headed by retired Admiral Thomas H. Moorer. This commission investigated the details of the controversial 1967 USS Liberty incident and determined, among other things, that the state of Israel had deliberately attacked an American ship in international waters, killing 34 U.S. sailors in the process and perpetrating an act of war.

Remember The Alamo!?

Who Looks Foolish, Alamo Heroes or Us?
by Chuck Baldwin

The battle of the Alamo was fought February 23 – March 6, 1836. For more than 13 days, 186 brave and determined patriots withstood Santa Anna's seasoned army of over 4,000 troops. To a man, the defenders of that mission fort knew they would never leave those ramparts alive. They had several opportunities to leave and live. Yet, they chose to fight and die. How foolish they must look to this generation of spoiled Americans.

It is difficult to recall that stouthearted men such as Davy Crockett (a nationally known frontiersman and former Congressman), Will Travis (only 23 years old with a little baby at home), and Jim Bowie (a wealthy landowner with properties on both sides of the Rio Grande) really existed. These were real men with real dreams and real desires. Real blood flowed through their veins. They loved their families and enjoyed life as much as any of us. There was something different about them, however. They possessed a commitment to liberty that transcended personal safety and comfort.

Liberty is an easy word to say, but it is a hard word to live up to. Freedom has little to do with financial gain or personal pleasure. Accompanying Freedom is her constant and unattractive companion, Responsibility. Neither is she an only child. Patriotism and Morality are her sisters. They are inseparable; destroy one and all will die.

Early in the siege, Travis wrote these words to the people of Texas: "Fellow Citizens & Compatriots: I am besieged by a thousand or more of the Mexicans under Santa Anna. . . . The enemy has demanded a surrender at discretion, otherwise the garrison are to be put to the sword . . . I have answered the demand with a cannon shot & our flag still waves proudly from the walls. I shall never surrender or retreat. . . VICTORY OR DEATH! P.S. The Lord is on our side."

As you read those words, remember that Travis and the others did not have the A.C.L.U., P.E.T.A., People for the un-American Way, and the National Education Association telling them how intolerant and narrow-minded their notions of honor and patriotism were. A hostile media did not constantly castigate them as a bunch of wild-eyed extremists. As school children, they were not taught that their forefathers were nothing more than racist jerks.

The brave men at the Alamo labored under the belief that America (and Texas) really was "the land of the free and the home of the brave." They believed God was on their side and that the freedom of future generations depended on their courage and resolve. They further believed their posterity would remember their sacrifice as an act of love and devotion. It all looks pale now.

By today's standards, the gallant men of the Alamo appear rather foolish. After all, they had no chance of winning--none. However, the call for pragmatism and practicality was never sounded. Instead, they answered the clarion call, "Victory or death!"

Please try to remember the heroes of the Alamo as you watch our gutless political and religious leaders surrender to compromise and political correctness. Try to recall the time in this country when ordinary men and women had the courage of their convictions and were willing to sacrifice their lives for freedom and independence.

One thing is certain: those courageous champions at the Alamo did not die for a political party or for some "lesser of two evils" mantra. They fought and died for a principle, and that principle was liberty and independence. So did the men at Lexington and Concord. That is our heritage.

Two-Party Death Grip

Image result for Bird of Prey

The Left and Right Wing of the Two Party System is The Same Bird of Prey

by Chuck Baldwin
February 15, 2008

It is time to say it: the two major parties hold a death grip on the American people. Instead of representing the people, both the Republican and Democrat parties are bought and paid for by special interest groups and multinational corporations. Neither party pays any attention to the U.S. Constitution but both are largely marching in lockstep toward bigger and bigger government. Both Republicans and Democrats eagerly sacrifice what's good for the country for what's good for the party. As they now exist, neither major party deserves the support of patriotic Americans.

Furthermore, blind allegiance to the two major parties has created a "lesser of two evils" mindset that has warped the thinking and perverted the values of otherwise good people. What people would never accept in any other venue of society, they gladly and willingly accept from their chosen party's candidates.

People expect honesty and integrity from clergymen, bankers, doctors, businessmen, realtors, journalists, and even used car salesmen. Those same people, however, quickly tolerate and even excuse dishonesty and chicanery from their chosen political party.

Ever since George W. Bush became President of these United States, I have watched in disbelief as my fellow Christian conservatives have not only looked the other way as Bush repeatedly betrayed conservative/constitutional principles, but have willingly and enthusiastically supported his apostasy. Many of them are continuing to do the same thing by supporting the Big-Government, pro-amnesty, pro-gun control, pro-100-year war, grubby candidacy of John McCain. Good grief! Pat Robertson even endorsed the soiled candidacy of the liberal cross-dresser, Rudy Giuliani.

It is clear, therefore, that conservatives are more than willing to support and defend someone they know to be unfaithful to both their oath of office and to bedrock conservative principles. In other words, it does not matter a whit to them whether their candidate tells the truth, obeys the Constitution, or even demonstrates fidelity to the fundamental principles of liberty. If he has an "R" behind his name, conservatives will support him.

However, the same people who will justify dishonesty in the lives of their favored party's politicians would never accept such conduct from anyone else. Furthermore, many of these conservatives actually call themselves Christians; many are preachers. They preach and teach the virtues of honesty and integrity from the pulpit. They teach boys and girls to be honest and virtuous: to put the principles of right above personal wealth or benefit. Then, they turn around and support these lying politicians, many of whom are fornicating, greedy, arrogant reprobates. What is even more amazing is that they find no inconsistency with what they are doing.

In his Farewell Address, our first and greatest President, George Washington, eloquently lobbied the American people to guard against over-infatuation with political parties. Anyone reading his warnings today will be impressed with his insight and wisdom. Virtually everything he predicted has come to pass. Blind loyalty to political parties has corrupted our public institutions, blinded the hearts and minds of the American people, and opened wide the door to undue foreign influence.

If everyone who believes and teaches honesty and accountability would put it into practice when they walk into the voting booth, we could put a stop to this pathetic practice of electing dishonest and despicable people to high public office. Instead of hiding their own character and integrity under the bushel basket of party partisanship, voters could be proud of the fact that they are actually helping to set the ship of state aright by electing men and women of honesty and character.

Although I do not share this opinion, many people believe Abraham Lincoln to be one of America's greatest presidents (I think he was one of the worst). Personal opinion aside, it is a fact that Lincoln's election and subsequent influence upon this country was huge. Therefore, it is more than significant to realize that Lincoln was first elected from a four-person race with only 39% of the popular vote. Even more significant is the fact that at that time the Republican Party was a minor party, having been formed only a few years earlier. So much for the argument that a minor party cannot win a major election.

In practically every Presidential election, there are candidates from a variety of independent or "third" parties on the ballot. To ignore them merely because they are not Republicans or Democrats is absurd. Furthermore, it is more than obvious that the GOP will not tolerate principled candidates running for President. The recent Presidential candidacies of Duncan Hunter, Tom Tancredo, Alan Keyes, and Ron Paul make this abundantly clear.

While it may still be appropriate to support state and local Republican candidates, at the Presidential level, it is waste of time--and a wasted vote--to support the establishment Republican candidates. They are all Big-Government liberals  and career politicians.

I recommend that people seriously consider voting for a Third Party candidate. Start by taking a close look at the Constitution Party.

http://www.constitutionparty.com

The Constitution Party (the third largest political party in America) has a proven track record of fidelity to pro-life, conservative principles and to constitutional government. I further believe it is time for principled columnists and journalists such as Charley Reese to start encouraging voters to support principled, independent candidates. The same goes for leaders of the Religious Right such as Tony Perkins, James Dobson, and Phyllis Schlafly. For them to continue to ignore good, independent candidates only serves to strengthen and augment the two-party death grip.

It is more than interesting that more people are currently registered as Independents than either Republican or Democrat. But it is not enough to register as an Independent, we must start voting Independent. Remember, the object is to elect honest and honorable leaders for our country, not to promote and protect the private agendas of the fat cats who control the two major parties.

It increasingly appears that the two major parties will force the American people to choose between the fascistic John McCain or the Marxist Barack Obama. Is that really the kind of choice we are willing to accept? Are we really content to continue to vote the "party line," no matter what damage results?

Let's face it, folks: the two major parties are strangling the life out of this country. It is indeed a death grip. Something drastic must be done, and it must be done NOW! Since it does not appear that either major party is salvageable (at the national level), it is up to "We the people" to take matters into our own hands. This means bypassing the mainstream press and relying more on the Internet for our news and information. And it means bypassing the two major parties and voting for Independent candidates for President.

A strong independent conservative contender would make it a viable race (just like 1860). At that point, anything could happen. But first, we must awaken to the reality of the two-party death grip, and then decide to do something about it. I am ready. How about you?

 ... Or Cares

by Edgar J. Steele
December 11, 2007

Here's an email notice I just received from a correspondent:
(Reminder: this message was just prior to the 2008 stock market crash in George W. Bush's administration)

CompUSA going out of business. Possible big discounts starting Wednesday. Normally, when a store goes out of business, it means an "everything must go" sale, and CompUSA's will be no exception.

CompUSA is a big chain. Time was, this would be front-page news all over America. Bet you don't hear about it at all, except from this single email. Lots of companies this size are going under now, but you don't hear about them.

Take this as a sign of the times. GM now has negative equity of $74 per share. Ford should have gone under a year ago. When I was working in San Francisco as a financial analyst, line banks would use their loan covenants to force corporate takeovers/dissolutions when book value got low. GM's is negative, fercrissakes! Difference is, GM and Ford are too big to let go out of business - too noticeable to Americanus Stupidus.

Same thing with gas prices. That's why diesel, which always has been cheaper, now costs a bunch more than gas - they keep the gas prices low so as not to unduly alarm the sheep.

I had my wife drop the pickup off at the dealer recently, asking her to tell them to replace the glow-plug relay, which obviously had gone bad due to the hard-starting and smoking symptoms. I just found out that they charged us $253 for a part I should have bought off eBay ($40, including shipping) and replaced myself (3 screws) - a repair I have done myself before on other diesel vehicles. $253!!! I have a call in to the service department, which I have used for 15 years, and can hardly wait to hear their excuse. They just lost my business, of course.

I expect lots of local business failures due to customer losses in the face of pricing practices just like this, which now are pandemic throughout America. I'm going to start changing my own oil again, too, just like I used to, after 30 years of having others do it for me. How about you? There goes Jiffy Lube.

I just got a pitch from UCLA's law school for donations. Part of it was a recounting of tuition cost through the years, designed to cause me to want to send in a check. The only thing that it made clear to me is that we mere mortals no longer can afford a professional education and that it is time to close down UCLA's law school!

Though second only to UC Berkeley's Boalt Hall law school in quality for public universities in America, UCLA and Boalt Hall still are publicly-funded colleges, so must be accessible. When I attended UCLA Law School (1979-1982), my total tuition for three years was $2,500. If you started at UCLA law this past fall, you will pay $87,000 in tuition alone before you finish - and that is in-state, resident tuition, too. I can't afford to send my kids to such a school, but you know who gets free rides.

I hurt my back when some dumb cluck teenager backed into my car in a parking lot this past fall, so had to hire others to cut wood for our winter heat. Couldn't get anybody local to respond to my ad offering $10, then $12 per hour, cash. I finally got two guys to commute 1 and 2 hours, respectively, to cut wood for me for $15 per hour.

Maybe there really are jobs that we won't do anymore.

I call the two current generations the "lost generations," because they don't want to work, don't know how to work and won't show up when they agree to work. What America really needs is the financial enema she is about to receive. Unfortunately, a good smacking from World War is going to accompany it, thanks to our friends in the ranks of The Chosen.

Already, we are hurtling into the abyss, folks, and they are doing everything they can to lie to us about it.

The CNBC anchor quickly cuts off the guest when he both accuses the govt of lying in statistics and actually mentions discontinuance of the reporting of M3*. Then, shortly after that, the guest says he believes the US economy is a house of cards and that the world is teetering on the brink of financial collapse, whereupon the anchor again steps in, recharacterizes what the guest just said as "recession" and breezily changes the subject for the balance of the interview.

This is how it is done, folks, even when they get someone honest and knowledgeable  on TV. This is why the average American is just so damned stupid! (Not you, of course. The fact you have read this far proves you are far from average.)

The sky isn't falling - it already has fallen and lies about us in broken shards that are obvious if we just open our eyes.

* In finance, M3 is a broad measure of the money supply, including everything in M2 plus large time deposits, institutional money market funds, and repurchase agreements (repos). It was previously used by central banks to track the total amount of money in circulation, but its use has been discontinued in some countries like the United States.

Note: As usual, America survived. However, not without millions of people being hurt financially. Amazingly, the politicians came out of the 2008 recession much richer... just another strange coincidence, huh?

Government Cannot Do Church's Job

Image result for Church and government images

by Chuck Baldwin
December 11, 2007

One thing that Christians should come to terms with is the truism that government cannot do the church's job. Not in any shape, manner, or form. Yet, by the way many Christians and pastors behave these days, one gets the impression that they don't really understand this truth. Instead, it seems that many Christians and ministers see the government--especially the federal government--as an extension of the church.

Now, if anyone thinks that I am about to go into a "separation of church and state" tirade, think again. The modern definition of "separation of church and state" is so far removed from the original meaning of the First Amendment that it is downright preposterous. All the First Amendment does is prohibit (the federal) Congress from passing any law establishing a state church or from prohibiting the free exercise of religion.

The idea that James Madison and the other authors of the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights intended to prohibit children from praying in school, or state and local governments from posting the Ten Commandments and from erecting Nativity scenes is the invention of modern-age humanists, whose real goal is to eviscerate America's Christian heritage. Such reasoning is a complete inversion of the real meaning of the First Amendment. All the First Amendment was designed to do was recognize religious liberty, something Americans enjoyed until the infamous Supreme Court decisions in 1962 and '63.

That said, it is equally apparent that many Christians and ministers today have developed the attitude that somehow the federal government is supposed to enforce by law what only the Spirit of God can enforce through grace. Let's be plain: the federal government cannot do the church's job.

The role of the federal government is to secure the rights that are given to us by God. Namely, the rights of life, liberty, and property. Properly understood, the role of the federal government has little to do with providing "services," and everything to do with securing the liberties of the people. It is just that simple.

However, a majority of Americans today believe that the federal government (in essence) is supposed to be father, mother, provider, teacher, doctor, and even preacher to people. Instead of looking to God, the family, the church, and individual responsibility, we look to Uncle Sam. And this sentiment is shared by a host of professing Christians as well.

Therefore, instead of doing the hard work of teaching and disciplining our children, we look to Uncle Sam to straighten out our rebellious kids. Instead of preaching the hard messages of truth from our pulpits, churches expect Uncle Sam to straighten out (through the power of law) all those "bad" people out there. Instead of taking personal responsibility for our own health and livelihood, we expect Uncle Sam to be our provider and protector.

Take the issue of morality, for example. When, pray tell, did it become the responsibility of the federal government to define, inspect, and enforce morality? Is this not first, the responsibility of the home, and second, the responsibility of the church? Do we really desire a federal government with the power to define and enforce morality? God forbid!

At this point, I should make it clear that state and local governments have every right--and even the responsibility--to establish community standards. State and local governments are legitimately within their rights to prohibit those activities deemed harmful to the health and well-being of their communities.

If states or municipalities want to prohibit "adult" book stores, they certainly have the right to do so. If they want to make prostitution and drug use illegal, they have every right to do so. If they want to regulate nightclubs and honky-tonks, more power to them. I, for one, have no desire to live in Pottersville. However, none of this is any of Uncle Sam's business!

Here is the problem: our pastors have become spiritual pantywaists and our churches have become spiritual playgrounds. Pastors and churches have sold their souls to success-driven "ministry." We want big attendances, big offerings, big family life centers, big youth departments, big Sunday Schools, and big-name people on our membership rolls. And we will do whatever it takes to achieve it.

And most of the time, in order to accommodate our overwhelming desire to be a "big success," pastors and churches will soften the message to the point that the average Sunday sermon is little more than a glorified "how-to-get-rich," or "how-to-be-happy," or "how-to-avoid-guilt," ad infinitum, ad nauseum, pep-talk. Words such as "sinner," "Hell," "judgment," "retribution," and "repentance" have been permanently removed from the vocabulary of the average pastor. The plain, powerful, old-fashioned Gospel has been replaced with sloppy, mushy, offend-no-one sermonettes that could not bring Holy Spirit conviction if one even wanted it--which hardly anyone does.

Furthermore, the music program of the average church is nothing more than a hard-rock concert, and our youth programs are little more than dating services. There is no church discipline or accountability. People can dress (or undress) any way they want, talk any way they want, and act any way they want with little or no supervision or oversight.

Then, when our families and communities go to Hell, instead of hitting the prayer closet and asking God to send revival to our hearts, our homes, and our churches, we demand that Uncle Sam fix it. We support presidential candidates who say they will lead the federal government in finding solutions to all of our ills.

Ladies and gentlemen, the federal government cannot do the church's job. The church has an obligation to be the "light" and "salt" of society. It should be setting the standard of righteousness through its preaching and teaching. It should be willing to call a spade a spade, even if it offends business leaders and politicians in the process.

Likewise, the federal government cannot do the family's job. It is the responsibility of each mother and father to teach morality and faith to their children. Parents are given the task of disciplining and correcting their children.

Let's tell it like it is: America is fast losing its moral compass because our families and churches are not doing their respective jobs. And the problem is, when families and churches fail, there is no Plan B. That is, not without the loss of freedom and independence.

The federal government cannot do the job of the family and the church, because everything it does is at the expense of something else. The only wealth it has is what it confiscates from someone else. The only power it has is what it steals from someone else. The only "services" it provides are at the expense of someone else. This is why our country's founding documents state that the federal government's role was to be very limited and narrowly defined.

As someone rightly said, "A government that is big enough to give you all you want, is big enough to take it all away." Amen.

Therefore, instead of looking to presidential candidates who will use the federal government to accomplish everything we want done (even the good things we want done), we should support only those candidates who recognize the proper role of the federal government as being limited and narrowly defined (by the Constitution). And then, it behooves us to look to ourselves to be the parents we should be to our own children at home, and to look for pastors and churches that are not trying to be popular, but that are courageous and faithful custodians of the truth.

God's Divine Judgments

God's Divine Justice - Judge's Hand with Gavel in Heavenly Clouds

Guest Commentator - David Weber

Beloved, everything that God does is in accordance with His Divine Law. His Law is perfect. Grace sets us free, not from the Divine Law itself, but free to come to God so that His righteous ways can be carved on our hearts and on our minds through righteous judgments. Without the Law there can be no righteous judgments. Without the Law, there cannot even be grace!

The righteous judgments of God are soon going to flood the earth in an unprecedented way, and this will have a profound effect on all of the inhabitants of the earth. These judgments will all be made in accordance with the Divine Law of God.

His Law is perfect, and so are His judgments. The legal process of divine judgment IS the fiery stream which flows from God's Holy Throne. His Law is His FIRE, and it is something that is administered to sinners to set them free ... not to torture them! Those who teach that God's fire is to be used for the purpose of torturing and tormenting sinners, don't know the heart of God, nor do they understand His Law, nor do they understand the purpose for His judgments.

When the Son visited the earth in the form of a man, He made clear His desire to kindle a FIRE on the earth. In that statement, the Son was not expressing a wish to bring people into the torture of "hell-fire" - as many understand it, but He wished to restore the earth by means of GOD'S LAWFUL JUDGMENTS.

This process of restoration through judgment was seen by the prophet Daniel as a river of fire, and was seen by John as a lake of fire. In vision form, these two prophets were both shown God's PROCESS for the full restoration of His creation man, but each prophet saw this PROCESS at different stages.

To share just briefly here on "the lake of fire" that was seen by John; IT IS A PICTURE OF THE END PROCESS OF GOD'S LAWFUL JUDGMENTS! The "lake of fire" is not a specific judgment in and of itself, but rather it is a prophetic description of a process which consists of many different types of judgment, all which fit the specific crimes committed. At the Great White Throne Judgment the dead will be raised to be judged according to their "deeds." Despite what religious Babylon teaches about the lake of fire, those cast into this "lake" do not all receive the same judgment, for how could they if they are each "judged according to their deeds"? Again I say, "the lake of fire" is a prophetic picture of a PROCESS of judgment. It is not a specific judgment in and of itself!

In regard to the punishments of God, they are, and shall be meted out in degrees, and can be short in duration, or they can last for many ages. But be assured, they are "eonian," which means that they have a distinct beginning and a definite end! Punishment itself would be meted out by tormenting sinners forever - but JUSTICE would not be served! The Lord God is a JUST AND LOVING GOD! His punishments are benevolent and constructive they are NOT vindictive and retaliatory! God's fire is that which consumes all of the wood, hay, and stubble of man's carnality. It is NOT a literal fire, and it sure as heck is NOT an "eternal" one!

Beloved ones, our Father has a wondrous and benevolent plan that will eventually be wrought out to the full restoration of His entire creation. Unfortunately though, many people (even most Christians) have not yet vision for this, mostly because they've been blinded by their religion and the erroneous traditions and teachings of men. To most of you here though, I believe that it has been granted for you to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of God. Keep your hearts as little children.

Bless you ... D
