White House economics adviser Kevin Hassett suggested that tariffs would be heavily focused on 10 to 15 countries that account for the bulk of the US trade deficit. If you look at the 32 years of the Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Biden administrations, we were promised prosperity—but instead, we lost jobs, destroyed cities, and neglected infrastructure in our country. Trump’s action ends the broken promises—we’re making stuff in America again and raising wages.
When Biden was in office the Democrats supported tariffs
Liberals are professional complainers. Liberals are like the husband who asked his wife to scramble one and fry one egg for his breakfast. When the wife sets his plate on the table, he says, "You scrambled the wrong egg."
“There are more than 100 countries that don’t really have any tariffs
on us and don’t have any non-tariff barriers,” Hassett said in an
interview with Fox Business. Data from the Commerce
Department show that in 2024, the U.S. had the highest goods trading
deficit with 19 trading partners: China, followed by the European Union, Mexico,
Vietnam, Ireland, Germany, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Canada, India,
Thailand, Italy, Switzerland, Malaysia, Indonesia, France, Austria and
Sweden.
These countries do not want US products to
complete with their domestic products, which is fine. On the other hand,
the United States wants fair tariffs that will protect American
businesses and consumers. China has flooded the market with cheap
knockoffs of thousands of products. American consumers can hardly find
any products that are not "Made in China."
William McKinley was the 25th president of the United States, serving from 1897 until his assassination in 1901. A member of the Republican Party, he led a realignment with tariffs that made America wealthy in the industrial States and nationwide for decades. He was assassinated for making America great.
